L.J. Christmas Apartments is a not for profit registered charity and is one of the few independent residences for seniors in the lower mainland. We receive no government funding, this allows us the ability to put the needs of our tenants first. Your donation can have a big impact on our tenants and building. Our History
The Burquitlam Lions Club and the City of Coquitlam were instrumental in the building of L. J. Christmas Apartments. Larry Fleming of the Burquitlam Lions Club and City of Coquitlam Mayor, L.J. (Jimmy) Christmas, shared a passion to give back and serve their community.
Talking over a beer in 1969 they came up with the vision of our building and in less than two years made that vision a reality. Their shared drive and determination to provide housing for seniors were traits that our volunteer Burquitlam Senior Housing Society (BSHS) board still share.
To this day our volunteer Board of Director continue to operate L. J. Christmas Apartments and build on their legacies.
