About Us
Since 1971 L.J. Christmas Apartments has provided housing to seniors in Coquitlam.
Our building is one of the few independently owned residences for seniors in the lower mainland that is operated by a not for profit society that is also a registered charity.
Centrally located nearby Lougheed Mall we are readily accessible to public transportation, grocery stores, banks, restaurants, medical clinics, seniors recreation facilities and many other amenities.
Our History
The Burquitlam Lions Club and the City of Coquitlam were instrumental in the building of L. J. Christmas Apartments.
Larry Fleming of the Burquitlam Lions Club and City of Coquitlam Mayor, L.J. (Jimmy) Christmas, shared a passion to give back and serve their community. Talking over a beer in 1965 they came up with the vision of our building and by 1971 they made that vision a reality. Their shared drive and determination to provide housing for seniors were traits that our volunteer Burquitlam Senior Housing Society (BSHS) board still share.
To this day our volunteer Board Of Directors continue to operate L. J. Christmas Apartments and build on their legacies.
