The funding for our retrofit renovations will ensure our building will remain affordable and provide housing for seniors on basic pensions for decades to come.
As we move forward with our building preservation project we are pleased to provide milestone updates.
Recent Updates
June 2026
We are halfway through renovating the apartments and are pleased to announce that we are on time and on budget. The Narrow Gate Development team are transforming the building and making the apartments extremely comfortable for our tenants. Tenants that are living in the newly renovated apartments can control the temperature of their home to their desire, not too warm and not too cold, just right! The new windows are not only improving the energy efficiency of the building but also making it look better.
November 2025
Announcing our new bachelor apartments! We celebrated the completion of the first apartments with a ribbon cutting ceremony. We are grateful to all our supporters that have helped make this project possible.
The renovated apartments are now energy-efficient, climate resilient, and easy to maintain. They will provide a comfortable home for tenants for years to come.
June 2025
We are pleased to announce that the Federal government CMHC Canada Greener Affordable Housing (CGAH) and the Affordable Housing Fund (AHF) programs will provide most of the funding for our project. The project is underway, and we are look forward to our apartments being more energy efficient, climate resilient, and comfortable for our tenants.
January 2025
Our hard work has paid off! We are thrilled to share that we received confirmation of funding for our retrofit renovations.
October 2024
At our Open House we shared information on the exciting plans we have to retrofit the building to make it more energy efficient and viable for decades to come.
